The ideal candidate should have demonstrated an ongoing commitment and dedication to his/her respective equine discipline; served as a positive role model for peers; maintained high academic standards; and personified, both in and out of the show ring, those qualities that exemplify good character and true sportsmanship.
Text Box: 2009 Scholarship Application

The Tri-State Horse Shows Association Scholarship is open to Junior Members of Tri-State in the 11th or 12th grades or 2007 high school graduates.  

The Scholarship is available for advanced education at a four year college/university, junior college or vocational/technical school.

The winner will be announced at the 2008 Awards Dinner

The Tri-State Scholarship is available to any current junior member of Tri-State who is a 2008 high school graduate or in the 11th or 12th grade during the 2008—2009 school year.
The recipient must matriculate at a college, university, junior college, community college or vocational/technical school within 2 years of high school graduation or the recipient’s scholarship will revert back to the Tri-State Scholarship Fund.
A Tri-State Scholarship will be awarded only one time to any individual.  Applications must be made annually.  No application will be held for review in subsequent years, nor will any applications be returned.  All information submitted with and contained within each application will be held in strictest confidence.
Scholarship applications must be submitted to Tri-State no later than January 10, 2008.  The Scholarship Selection Committee is appointed by the Tri-State Board of Directors, and does not consist of any current Tri-State directors or officers.  The purpose of the application material is to give the Selection Committee a clear understanding of each candidate’s goals, strengths, and personal ideals.
The 2007 Tri-State Scholarship, to be awarded in 2008, shall not be less than $1,000.00.  The funds for this Scholarship shall be in the form of a CD in the recipient’s name, which shall mature the year the recipient matriculates.  Funds will be forwarded to the recipient by Tri-State upon written confirmation of enrollment at a post-secondary school as defined above.
